How it Works: Principle #1 – Addiction affects every aspect of a person: mental, spiritual, emotional and physical
Addiction causes problems in every aspect of your life, so it is important that we begin our work together by gaining clarity about, and prioritizing, the specific issues that you’re currently facing.
Doing this, we establish exactly where you’re at: Point A.
Once we have this understanding of the present circumstances, we can then turn our attention towards the future and identify your immediate and long term goals.
Doing this, we establish exactly where it is you want to go: Point B.
Working together, we then acquire and get you familiar with all of the tools necessary to get you from Point A to Point B with the greatest amount of Grace & Ease.
As the saying goes, “It’s simple – but not easy.”
Your first steps to a new, sober life are clearly laid out before you in the form of the exercises from the 1st Principle. Our work begins by eliminating any ambiguity, misunderstanding or assumptions about basic addiction terminology and definitions. Together, we find, agree upon and use “the addiction language” that works best for you.
We do this by proceeding step-by-step through the material presented in the Alchemist Recovery Client’s Workbook. Here’s an excerpt from one of Principle 1’s Worksheet’s:

Most approaches to addiction treatment will tell you what you are supposed to think, feel and do. In doing this, they do not recognize your unique situation and honor your individual beliefs. Alchemist Recovery does both of these and through the exercises offered in Principle #1, we form a solid foundation to build upon and make the healthy changes that are needed to last you a lifetime.
