WHAT YOU GET

This is the same material that has been successfully integrated at world-class inpatient centers for 13+ years, as well as private & group practices for over two decades. During that time, it was named, The Alchemist Recovery Program, and for simplicity, we’ll refer to it as, The Program.

The Program is presented in step-by-step, easy to understand, bite-sized Lessons. These 52 Lessons—one per week for an entire year—guide, instruct and support you.

Each explores a different yet interrelated recovery topic in a variety of formats including experiential exercises. Every Lesson includes:

PDF WORKBOOK

Every Lesson contains an informative, visually appealing PDF.

This downloadable document is your guidebook for the week. Refer back to it as often as you need—it explains everything in straightforward terms and plain language.

VIDEO INSTRUCTION

Three videos walk you through each Lesson’s PDF.

These cover all content along with the exercises.

They set you up with homework and prepare you for the next steps in The Program.

GUIDED JOURNEY

Every Lesson includes a guided shamanic journey, called a Medicine Journey, that provides insight, information and power. We explore each recovery topic through this spiritual exercise, bringing new perspective to the problems at the root of addiction—ones hidden from everyday awareness.

This component is what makes The Sober Shaman’s Program unique and, at the same time, suitable for integration with other therapies, approaches and religious or spiritual practices.

SHAMANIC wRITES EXERCISE

Every Lesson also includes a Shamanic wRites exercise.

The guided, step-by-step audio will provide you with another method of breaking the cycle of addiction and deepening your connection to self and spirit.

Q & A

Answers to the most common questions in each Lesson are included in audio format.

If you still have questions, you can send them to me directly by email and/or you can ask them in the chat (anonymously if desired) during a live Q&A session.

LIVE EVENTS

As someone in The Program, you’ll get access to all upcoming live events.

These include Q&As, interviews, teaching seminars and in-depth discussions on the work.

EXTERNAL RESOURCES

There will be topics that resonate more deeply with you, your personal situation and your ongoing path of recovery. Resources are available for investigating these side-trails along your path and are updated regularly.

The Sober Shaman Blog, Substack, Podcast, YouTube, and other social media platforms offer a number of avenues for exploration.

DIRECT E-MAIL

You get me as your guide. I’m always here. So, if you don’t find what you’re looking for, you can email me and I’ll personally do my best to provide the next steps.

 FAQs

  • You believe in science? Wonderful! Bring that curiosity, apply that logic, and conduct your experiments while exploring the realms of the shaman!

  • Personally, I was exactly the same, which is why I’ve made every exercise, in every Lesson, provide tangible results that are immediately applicable to your situation.

  • If you’ve got other support, awesome! First, because The Program provides a spiritual perspective on addiction, these time-proven ways of breaking patterns can fill-in-the-blanks of whatever you’re already doing.

Second, it keeps you involved between sessions. You’ll have extra support and as much engagement as you want through the exercises and material.

Third, if your practitioner and you would like, you can do the exercises together with your therapist during a session. These methods support synergy, where the end product is more powerful than the sum of its parts.

  • This Program is not taken from, related to or based upon AA in any way. That said, it brings insight and healing to anyone—whether or not you are working the Steps on your own, with your sponsor or in a study group.

  • Absolutely not. As a mater of fact, the work is designed to strengthen whatever spiritual connections you currently have.

  • The first thing we do is explore exactly what you mean by the words, terms and concepts around this loaded subject. We eliminate any confusion, release the baggage, and get on the same page to tackle the problems that you have (regardless of labels and free from rigid rules).

  • Absolutely not. We only work with your helping and compassionate spirits.

As a matter of fact, many have spoken about how their active addiction attracted “dark energies,” and now there is the clear intention and The Path’s direction—leading you into the light of healing.

  • Three main points:

    1. It honors the fact that you are unique and will have your own specific issues that need to be addressed. At the same time, there are universal laws that apply to everyone regardless of who you are, where you come from and the specifics of your addiction. The Path’s work acknowledges and embraces this paradox to deliver the medicine that is right for you.

    2. We follow 3 simple principles, each with their own clear, plain-English model that walks you from point A to point B, then all the way to success at point Z. The work is evident and laid out before you.

    3. It integrates with your religion and other therapies—or provides a completely new spiritual path. This means it works with whatever belief system you already have; there is nothing for you to change except the old, outdated models of protection that perpetuate addiction.

  • Finding connections to others is one of the most important aspects of recovery. Finding, establishing and maintaining a relationship to spirit opens doors where there were no doors before. We explore how others have made these part of their recovery Medicine through: movement, travel, ancestry, writing, volunteering, food, teaching, podcasts, books, online groups, and so much more. You’ll find something—and others—that are right for you.

  • Absolutely. It’s an ongoing and continuous Practice. We follow a map of integration, which anchors the healing at every step and encompasses the whole person—mental, spiritual, emotional and physical.

This unique approach cultivates a deep, soulful connection to oneself and the Universe, offering life-long practices proven to support sustainable addiction recovery.
